:: Welcome to DIVISION 08 web
links at the Atari 7800.com Atari History Library Web Resource. Listed
below are choice links featuring my favorite Atari-based websites
serving the classic gaming community. These sites, in my opinion,
are the best of the best, all of which cater very nicely to your Atari
gaming enthusiast desires. While some are well-known big-shots in
the Atari world, you may notice a few smaller and lesser-known sites,
which are of just as good caliber as the bigger guys, and are run
by dedicated and knowledgeable Atari enthusiasts.
Please help support the Atari
community by visiting these websites and taking advantage of the services
they have to offer.

:: ATARI EXPOLORER ::
CATEGORY: ATARI HISTORY
MASTER: KARL MORRIS

Atari Explorer is absolutely hands down my favorite Atari
site to-date. Atari Explorer is the brainchild of Karl Morris,
formerly known for his Atari Time Machine website in the
late 1990's. Atari Explorer is a sister-site of the Atari
Historical Society, and operates as the UK and European
arm of that organization. Karl has put in much time and
effort in the past year or so to launch what in my opinion
is the most enjoyable Atari site currently on line. AEX
offers extensive Atari history background, feature articles,
and game catalogues. Please stop by to visit Karl's wonderful
new site.

AtariAge is dedicated to bringing you the latest Atari
news, providing support for the Atari community, and maintaining
an extensive historical archive. AtariAge began in May of
1998 with the name Atari 2600 Nexus, basically as a collection
of links to other Atari 2600 sites. Over the years, it grew
to contain original content and news thanks to the help
of a supportive Atari community. In early 2001, the site
was redesigned from the ground up. It was then re launched
as AtariAge in April 2001, featuring a better design and
expanded coverage. Have you played Atari today?

AtariProtos.com is devoted to unearthing the
secrets of Atari prototypes, and features a growing repository
of comprehensive prototype reviews for the 2600 and 5200.
Each prototype is vigorously played until enough is learned
that a thorough review accompanied by many screenshots can

site for those curious about the often confusing world of
prototypes.

:: THE BLUE SKY RANGERS::
CATEGORY: MATTEL ELECTRONICS; INTELLIVISION
MASTER: KEITH ROBINSON

Quite frankly, this is one of the most amazing
things I have seen in the Classic Gaming universe. IntellivisionLives.com
is home to the Blue Sky Rangers, a name coined by TV Guide
Magazine in 1982 that refers to the original programming
and creative development team for the Intellivison system
from Mattel Electronics, best known as the lead competitor
to the Atari 2600. The Intellivision was a very nice system
for its time and made for an honorable opponent to the 2600.
What is absolutely amazing here is that the original programming
team, the Blue Sky Rangers, which is still together after
25 years, struck out on their own and purchased the rights
to the Intellivision system and line of games, and currently
continue support for the Intellivision brand as Intellivision
Productions, Inc. headed up by former Intellivision programmer
keith Robinson. Intellivision Productions, Inc. supports
the Intellivision brand by releasing compilation CDs containing
classic Intellivision games for play on your home computer,
along with t-shirts, posters, and technical support for
the classic system. While I grew up as an "Atari Kid,"
I have always been a closeted Intellivision fan, (I own
the entire Intellivision II set and I love it!) and I see
something in the Blue Sky Rangers that I wish we had in
the Atari world. This close-nit group of people really love
their system and realize the role they have played in video
game history. Their website is very informative, providing
detailed history and support for the Intellivision. The
site feels like home to any Intellivision fan, a real asset
to the classic gaming community. Please stop by their website
and support their efforts. They deserve your patronage.
